Author guidelines
Please read carefully and follow the CBMI 2009 submission guidelines in order to submit your paper:
2. Use the CBMI 2009 Easychair Submission Site to provide the main information and upload the file of your complete paper. You will be given an id/password which must later be used to access the system during future/update steps, so be careful to remember it.
3. The proceedings of the workshop will be published by the IEEE Computer Society. Following the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services (CPS) all publications will also be available through IEEE Xplore™ and through the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library. Therefore you must prepare your manuscript in an IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF version:
- All papers must be formatted according to the IEEE Conference Publications Manuscript Formatting Guidelines, as follows.
- Papers for all tracks are limited to 6 IEEE 2-column style pages, including all figures, tables, and references. A minimum paper length of 4 IEEE 2-column style pages is also imposed. Up to 2 extra pages (i.e. up to 8 IEEE 2-column style pages in total may be purchased at €100 per extra page, during registration.
- IEEE Conference Publications Manuscript Formatting Guidelines (including author templates and guidelines) are available for download:
8.5" x 11", 2-Column Format Layout Guide - Microsoft© Word

- If you prefer to create your own PDF file, please change the setting on your PDF distiller to insure your paper meets IEEE PDF specifications. Basic PDF distiller settings must be changed to:
- Optimized,
- Acrobat 4.0 compatibility,
- All graphics at least 300 dpi resolution, (higher if preferred),
- All fonts must be embedded and subset,
- Postscript settings do not override distiller settings,
- Page size is 612.0 x 792.0 points (8.5" x 11").IMPORTANT: Authors must check their final PDF files before submission to verify that all fonts have been properly embedded and subset. Some font manufacturers now flag their fonts to not embed. These fonts must be avoided.
- PDF eXpress™ will also be available for use soon. PDF eXpress™ is an IEEE-sponsored online tool, freely available to assist conference organizers and authors in complying with the above requirements for PDF files. PDF eXpress™ will be used also for camera-ready preparation of accepted papers.
IMPORTANT: IEEE PDF eXpress™ is not a manuscript-collection system and does not replace CBMI 2009 Easychair Submission Site. Once authors verify that they have IEEE Xplore-compatible versions of their manuscripts, they will still need to upload the files to the CBMI 2009 Easychair Submission Site.
4. The deadline for submitting your paper is now extended to January 15th, 2009!
5. Questions about the submission process may be sent to cbmi2009@image.ntua.gr.
Good luck!!!
